Architect
240 courses on Course Vaults
Tom Fazio established his own design firm in Jupiter, Florida in 1972 after beginning his career with his family's suburban Philadelphia practice in the 1960s. The nephew of George Fazio, he has since created more than 200 courses and become one of golf's most honored architects. Golf Digest named him "Best Modern Day Golf Course Architect" three times, and in 1995 he received the Old Tom Morris Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America—only the second architect so recognized.
His portfolio in Course Vaults spans elite private clubs across North America and beyond. Shadow Creek in Nevada and Wade Hampton in North Carolina are frequently cited among the nation's most admired modern designs. Other notable works include Alotian in Arkansas, Sage Valley in South Carolina, Victoria National in Indiana, and the Upper course at Whisper Rock in Arizona. He has completed resort projects such as Quail Hollow (host of the 2017 PGA Championship), renovations at Inverness and Pinehurst's No. 4 and No. 8, and international designs including Waterville in Ireland and Baker's Bay in the Bahamas.
Fazio's courses are known for meticulous site planning and natural integration, often working dramatic topography into strategic designs that reward precision. His influence extends across the American golf landscape, from mountain layouts in the Carolinas to desert courses in the Southwest.
