REYNOLDS PLANTATION - NATIONAL
🇺🇸 Greensboro, GA, USA
Designed by Tom Fazio
Reynolds Plantation's National course, weaving through the rolling Georgia Piedmont near Greensboro, exists as a 27-hole testament to Tom Fazio's enduring design philosophies. Carved from the region's signature pines and framed by Lake Oconee, the course doesn’t demand brute force; it rewards thoughtful strategy. Its generous fairways and subtly contoured greens offer a reprieve from penal course architecture, while strategically placed bunkers and water hazards keep golfers engaged.
Architect Tom Fazio maximized the natural elevation changes across the property, creating distinct nines each with their own feel. The Ridge nine, characterized by elevated tees and dramatic views of Lake Oconee, is a particular favorite. The Bluff nine presents rolling fairways and risk-reward opportunities, while the National nine presents a shot-maker's layout.
Though not a frequent host of major championships, the National course has been a popular venue for amateur and regional competitions. Reynolds Plantation, as a whole, is regarded as a premier golfing destination in the Southeast.
