DALLAS NATIONAL GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Dallas, TX, USA
Designed by Tom Fazio

Dallas National is Texas golf distilled: unapologetically bold and built for those who relish a demanding test carved into the rolling hills southwest of the city. This is not a course for the faint of heart, nor is it a place for pretense.
Designed in the early 2000s, the modern design offers sweeping vistas and strategic bunkering that frame demanding tee shots and approaches. With generous fairways that belie the challenge ahead, Dallas National asks golfers to embrace risk, rewarding the bold player and punishing those who shy away. Its terrain characteristics play across the rolling hills southwest of Dallas. This terrain lends itself to undulating fairways, challenging elevation changes, and strategic bunkering, demanding precision and strategic thinking from tee to green. The course favors long ball hitters with a draw given the wide open nature of the tee boxes, and the requirement to position your next approach.
Coore & Crenshaw shaped a brute of a course, a stark contrast to their more nuanced designs. This is Texas-sized golf, where length and aggressive play are rewarded, reflecting the spirit of its membership: successful entrepreneurs and power brokers who appreciate directness and competition.
Its exclusivity is a given. Dallas National is a sanctuary for its members, a place where business deals are quietly brokered, and the camaraderie is as strong as the Texas sun. While not a frequent host to major championships, the caliber of its membership and the uncompromising nature of the course itself speak volumes about its standing in the world of golf. And like a true Texas gathering, the barbeque is said to be the best this side of Franklin.
Reviews
Great track… doesn’t feel like you’re in Dallas.
Coolest golf course in Dallas. The topography is best in DFW. No better practice area in town which can be seen with so many tour players out there. Love how you can put in an order in the halfway house after 5 and you swing right back around after 8 to pick it up. A must play in Dallas.
Often lauded in Dallas and I suspect that is due in large part to the fact it is the course that most easily allows you to forget you are in Dallas. Never been a huge Fazio fan. Practice areas are ludicrous and why oodles of Tour guys play here. Other than a scenic elevated tee shot on 10, I struggle to pick out many memorable or particularly well designed holes. Have not yet played since recent redo.
My home course in TX, tough test but fantastic course
Just an amazing golf club. Course is very good and fun, but it’s the impeccable service and laid back atmosphere that make this place a must visit. One of my favorite days I’ve ever had.
