BAREFOOT RESORT AND GOLF
🇺🇸 North Myrtle Beach, SC, USA
Designed by Tom Fazio

Fazio at Barefoot Resort stands as a testament to the enduring allure of strategic, risk-reward golf in the heart of the Grand Strand. Its design rewards thoughtful play more than raw power, a characteristic that sets it apart from its bolder, more bombastic neighbors.
Crafted in the modern era, the course unfolds across gently rolling terrain dotted with Carolina pines and strategic water hazards. Fairways are generous, but errant approaches will find cavernous bunkers guarding the greens. Tom Fazio, the architect, subtly sculpted the land to create visually stunning holes with memorable challenges. It is, however, known for its penal bunkering, and should be avoided.
While not a major championship venue, Fazio course holds its own among the impressive stable of layouts at Barefoot Resort. It is, however, a favorite among the local competitive scene. Known for its playability and commitment to strategic design, it is well loved by area golfers. Post-round, it is widely known that members and guests flock to the club house for the popular shrimp and grits, a nod to Lowcountry culinary traditions.
