PELICANS NEST GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Bonita Springs, FL, USA
Designed by Tom Fazio
Gator, one of two championship courses at Pelican's Nest Golf Club in Bonita Springs, presents a straightforward, player-friendly challenge in Southwest Florida. Designed by golf course architect Ted McAnlis, it reflects the later-era Florida golf design aesthetic, with generous fairways and gently contoured greens. Water hazards meander throughout, influencing strategy without overwhelming the average golfer.
While not a tournament venue, Gator is best known for its accessibility and playability. The course’s layout is relatively open, lacking the dramatic elevation changes found elsewhere. This allows for a walking-friendly experience, a rarity in many modern Florida courses. The Club hosts member events year round at each of its two courses.
Pelican’s Nest has fostered a strong sense of community centered around golf. The membership is known for its active participation in club tournaments and social events, particularly gatherings at the clubhouse after rounds, and is a focal point of Pelican’s Nest.
