Nice spot. Front had a tornado tear some holes up and so has been redone and is in better shape than the back that is more hilly and narrow.
Loved it. No. 3 is a “short course” because it has 6 par-3s and a handful of short 4s, but it feels like a complete golf course for the most part. Great Ross green complexes and land movement with a good variety of holes. All you could ask for as a good warm-up or cooldown round for the other courses in Pinehurst
Felt like we were playing on Mars. Loved both Wolf & Snow course! (Wolf was better) Will be back for Sun course.
Beautiful setting and scenery, the holes that play into or along the hillside the clubhouse sits on tended to be the most memorable. Wish there was more land movement down in the valley, great sense of place though.
Played an early morning tee time in 2023 and still one of my more memorable rounds. Course was in phenomenal shape!
Kettle Brook is a really solid public track with plenty of elevation change, interesting green complexes, and enough variety to keep you hitting different shots all day. Definitely tougher than it looks on paper, especially when the wind gets going. Hole 9 is an absolute beast of a par 4, made even better by a questionable, potentially illegal pin location (pictured). Overall, a fun and challenging course I’d happily play again. A hike, but prime conditions for $95
Absolutely worth the trip if you make it down to the area. Tremendous value and the renovation made it into a hidden gem of a course.
We played the course after aerations and with conditions a bit down in August but you can see how this layout at peak would be something special. Ross did some amazing work getting those greens pitched into the slopes. Favorite holes were downhiller par 4 8th, forever long par 5 11th, risk reward par 4 14th and beefy par 3 17th.
