The best golf courses in Manalapan, New Jersey

“From tee to green, one cannot help being captured by the traditional and yet interesting design and routing, as well as the varied topography. The course is difficult and challenging, especially the greens, but not unfair.”

“Classic old school course with fabulous bunkering, very tricky greens and variety of distances. Blue tees seemed way longer than 6500ish. Standout holes included short par 4 2nd, short par 4 12th, and tunnel 18th.”

“One of the best driving ranges and facilities I’ve seen. It’s a super difficult course tee-green, but the greens aren’t as punishing as the rest. High grass and long holes might challenge you, but it’s a good place to play.”

“Been here quite a bit. It’s a great club and can be a fun play-not the hardest test of golf for good players. Some holes make you question the design, I’d call it outdated with modern distance.”

“Springdale is a decent course all around. Nothing spectacular, but everything’s pretty good. A solid range and practice facility and an old school golf course. A bit short for the modern game, but still fun for all skill levels. Conditions usually are good, not great.”

“Great course for beginners and most golfers. For longer hitters and competitive players it is too simple. Not an inch of elevation on the course and a pretty ok layout.”

“Great course that makes you really play the course and not just mindlessly hit your shots. The rough and bunkers are real obstacles: if you want to score then you’ll have to keep it in the fairway.”

“Been here a bunch. Wish it was more walkable. The greens are super simple and semi-flat, so I seem to putt great here. Otherwise it’s nothing special, some good holes and well kept course conditions. Plenty of birdies to be had on easy par 5s and short 4s.”

“Jasna is cool new school golf course. A few interesting holes, good mix of Par 3’s. 2 drivable Par 4’s. Has the unnatural look a lot of the TPC’s have. Greens weren’t the quickest but they were smooth.”

“A good Monmouth county public gem. Best kept public course in the area. A few doglegs that don’t do to well design wise for hitters over 220, but a course that’s fun to play all the time. Not difficult, but a good round to be played and good place to be.”

“Old Bridge is a very fun new public course in Central NJ. The conditions are solid and the layout is fun. A good mix of some short and long holes with a few modern takes on some of the historic templates.”

“Played many times as another solid local private club-it’s kept well and looks nice, but the layout makes you want more. It seems a bit squished into less space and would be great if they had more land.”

“Another county course I’ve played a bunch. The more “linksy” of the 2 at Charleston. I find the north to be a bit frustrating with a few more odd par 4 designs.”

“Beacon Hill has a well below average layout and iffy conditions. The land they have is very small, so the course is pretty crammed. No real practice facility. Greens are decent all things considered.”

“Conditions are solid but the course layout just does not do it for me. A few interesting holes, but feels very repeatable without any monster long holes. A decent course, but nothing more.”

“Course is just ok, conditions are spotty, a few of the holes are interesting. Winds around a housing community, so layout was probably forced around it. Nothing special but not a bad day.”
