The University of Texas at The University of Texas Golf Club

Home to the Longhorns golf teams, The University of Texas Golf Club winds through the rolling Texas Hill Country northwest of Austin, a landscape as integral to the university’s identity as Bevo. Designed by Bechtol Russell Golf in the early 2000s, the course presents a modern take on Hill Country golf. While not boasting the length of some modern layouts, accuracy off the tee becomes paramount, particularly navigating the doglegs that weave through the native oaks and cedars.

The generous fairways belie the challenge that awaits on approach, demanding precise iron play to small, subtly undulating greens. The wind, a constant companion in this elevated region, further complicates club selection. The clubhouse is known for its panoramic views of the course, particularly at sunset, and has become a popular spot for University faculty and staff gatherings.

Beyond its collegiate ties, the club maintains a strong membership base of alumni and Austin residents. While the UT Golf Club is not steeped in decades of tournament history, it consistently holds collegiate championships and local amateur events, making it a key part of the Austin golf community.
