Elie Golf House Club is an absolute gem and, hands down, the most authentic Scottish links course I have ever played. From the moment you arrive in the charming village of Elie and step onto the first tee with the Firth of Forth stretching out in front of you, you feel like you’ve been transported back in time to the true spirit of the game. What sets Elie apart is its wonderful quirkiness and sheer character. Blind shots, quirky bounces, and clever routing that follows the natural contours of the land make every hole memorable. There’s no artificial drama here—just pure, honest golf that rewards creativity, imagination, and a sense of humor. The greens are fantastic, the bunkering is strategic and penal in all the right ways, and the views across the water and along the coastline are simply beautiful. This was one of my favorite courses in Scotland by far.
Amazing views and a ton of fun
Views are great. Layout has come cool holes, all of which are in the middle of the course and out by the sea. 16 Par 4’s and 2 Par 3’s does make for a lot of repetition. Conditions aren’t the best despite the rates being high. They have become more unfriendly to guests the past few years. If in the area, play Lundin instead.
