The routing incorporates several holes that play along or toward the Brudenell River, using the water as both visual backdrop and strategic element. Hurdzan and Fry, known for their environmental sensitivity and strategic variety, shaped the course to preserve mature trees and natural contours while creating distinct playing corridors. The design emphasizes ground game options and multiple routes to greens, reflecting principles both architects have applied across their portfolio of resort and daily-fee courses. Dundarave serves as one of two championship courses at the Brudenell River resort, the other being the older Brudenell River course. Together they anchor a golf destination that draws visitors to Prince Edward Island's eastern shore, where the sport has deep roots in the island's tourism economy.
