Rodd Brudenell River Golf Resort

Brudenell River occupies a scenic stretch along the Brudenell River in eastern Prince Edward Island, approximately 45 minutes from Charlottetown. Canadian architect Robbie Robinson designed the course in 1969 as part of a provincial initiative to develop resort golf on the island. The layout takes advantage of the gently rolling terrain characteristic of PEI's interior, with several holes playing alongside or near the river that gives the course its name. The routing moves through a mix of open and tree-lined fairways, with mature stands of spruce and hardwoods framing many holes. The property's natural elevation changes are modest but sufficient to create variety in shot requirements and visual interest. Water comes into play on several holes beyond the river itself, including ponds and wetland areas that Robinson incorporated into the design. The greens tend toward moderate size with subtle internal contours, reflecting the design sensibilities of the late 1960s. Brudenell River operates as part of a provincial resort property that includes accommodations and dining facilities. The course has hosted provincial championships and regional amateur events over the decades. It pairs with the neighboring Dundarave course, also part of the resort complex, to offer 36 holes of golf in a relatively remote coastal setting. The combination of accessible resort amenities and traditional parkland-style golf has made it a fixture in PEI's golf tourism landscape for more than fifty years.
