The best courses you can play in Brooklyn, New York

“Francis A Byrne is the best municipal golf course I have ever played. I found myself saying “wow - I love this golf course” over and over again. The greens steal the show throughout, starting with the long Biarritz on 2 (a hole I unfortunately made a mess of).”

“On the water so you expect some wind but this wind made it impossible to judge and I wouldnt judge a course based on this but the green were awful and did not hold when you hit them. The course is made hard for no reason takes the fun out of golf.”

“Skyway is one of the best munis in the NYC/NJ area, even as a 9 hole course. I like to call it the working man’s liberty national. You’ll be hard pressed to find an even lie, and despite all the play it sees the greens crew does an incredible job at upkeep.”

“Not a terrible golf course not really a great one either. The last hole has a giant net that impedes on the shot and its a local rule if you hit the net you get to re tee. Its to protect the houses but it absolutely kills the round…”

“Fairways are in good shape. Tee boxes are horrendous. Greens are okay, but hard. Layout is wide open here, so wind and greens are the only defenses.”

“Fantastic course for NYC. Just extremely slow 5.5-6 hr rounds. No driving range. Great condition and facilities”

“Better than Pelham. Bit faster but still 5+ hours. Harder course - more narrow fairways. Challenging”
