The best golf courses in Monroe, New York

“You’ve seen the pictures of 16 all over the internet, but the rest of the course is equally thrilling. Massive piece of property with an out and back routing that traverses hills, canyons, rivers, ponds, and rocky outcroppings.”

“I was lucky to grow up there and knew it then. It’s cast in the shadows of Winged Foot and Baltusrol but Ridgewood is so balanced, reflective of Tillinghast and offers so many good holes over the three 9’s.”

“Great routing located above the banks of the Hudson River. Course offers a great routing with scenic views, especially on the Par-3 16th hole.”

“Very tough opening stretch of holes, excellent par 5s, and generally thoughtful routing (loved the shared teebox on 16). Road hole reminded me of Merion.”

“Can see right away why it’s rated the best public in NJ. Great pro shop. Course is challenging but fair. Course is always in great condition. It’s on the pricier side but well worth the money if you want to treat yourself for the day.”

“Interesting enough course but nothing to write home about. Only pulled driver twice and still had wedges into most holes - can’t tell if that’s a feature or a bug, though we played up as the other guys were mid-to-high teens players.”

“Interesting course but pace is slow, golf carts barely worked and half the bunkers were ground under repair”
