The course is short in length. It plays as a par 70 with two par 5s at 6500 yards from the tips. Its defenses are the bunkering, green contours, and prevailing winds that the course gets almost daily.

Had a Day yesterday at Devereux Emmet’s masterpiece. Long Island stands alone as the Mecca for unparalleled great golf courses in America. Everyone knows of NGLA, Shinnecock, Friars, Maidstone….the list goes on and on. But, only the true golf course crazy’s know of St George’s.

Course itself was fine. Pretty long and some challenging holes. Randomly 18th is a par 6. Grass driving range which is a plus. Not crowded at all on Saturday morning in June. Cart paths were a disaster.
