Blairgowrie Golf Club

Blairgowrie Golf Club sits in the Perthshire countryside near the town of Blairgowrie, approximately fifteen miles north of Perth. The club operates two eighteen-hole courses on heathland terrain characterized by sandy soil, mature pine and silver birch woodland, and natural heather. The Wee Course, also known as the Wee Course, was designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas and opened in 1974 as a complement to the club's original Rosemount Course. The layout measures shorter than its companion course but shares the same essential landscape qualities: tree-lined fairways, heather rough, and firm, fast-running conditions typical of Scottish inland heathland. The routing moves through corridors of pine and birch, with elevation changes that are modest but sufficient to create variety in stance and perspective. The greens are generally well-bunkered and require accurate approach play, particularly when the ground is firm. Blairgowrie's heathland setting distinguishes it from the links courses of Scotland's coastline, offering a different style of golf that emphasizes precision through wooded terrain rather than wind exposure. The club has a traditional membership and maintains both courses to a high standard. The Wee Course serves as a strong second eighteen holes for members and visitors, providing a full day's golf when played alongside the Rosemount. The clubhouse facilities reflect the club's long-standing place in Scottish golf, with dining and social spaces that support the membership's regular use of both courses.
