Seaside Course
St. Simons Island, GA, USA

Seaside, the stalwart course at Sea Island, stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of links-style golf on the Georgia coast. A product of the Golden Age, its open, windswept fairways and firm, fast conditions offer a distinct contrast to the island's more sheltered layouts. The course plays long, demanding strategic shot-making into the typically stiff ocean breeze, rewarding those who can shape the ball and manage their distances effectively. Designed by the esteemed Harry Colt and Charles Alison, Seaside has been carefully maintained and updated to preserve its classic character. Davis Love III also worked on the course to help further cement the course to its current stature. The course, as one might surmise, has deep ties to Davis Love III, who grew up at Sea Island and learned the game on these hallowed grounds. He calls it home to this day. More recently, Seaside is known as the host course of the RSM Classic on the PGA Tour, where tour professionals and Sea Island residents are common sights walking the fairways during regular play. The tournament brings some notoriety to the club while the membership quietly appreciates their time away from the spotlight. Sea Island’s membership enjoys a genteel atmosphere with a focus on tradition and camaraderie, where members often gather at the halfway house for pimento cheese sandwiches and sweet tea, before tackling the back nine. The club and its members are deeply invested in the local community, supporting numerous charitable initiatives and preserving the natural beauty of the Golden Isles.
