Fort Moore Golf Club

The Patton/Bradley course at Fort Moore Golf Club sits on the historic military installation formerly known as Fort Benning, home to the U.S. Army's Maneuver Center of Excellence in western Georgia near Columbus. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed this layout as part of the military's post-World War II golf development program, bringing his characteristic strategic design philosophy to serve the base's military community and authorized guests. The course takes its name from two of the Army's most celebrated generals, George S. Patton Jr. and Omar Bradley, both of whom had significant connections to the installation during their careers. Jones's design works with the rolling Piedmont terrain typical of this region of Georgia, incorporating elevation changes and natural corridors through pine and hardwood forests. The routing features the architect's signature elements: strategically placed bunkers that define preferred angles of approach, greens with distinct tiers and contours that reward precise iron play, and risk-reward scenarios that allow multiple ways to play individual holes depending on skill level and conditions. Water hazards come into play on several holes, adding variety to the strategic demands. As a military facility course, Fort Moore Golf Club serves active duty personnel, retirees, Department of Defense civilians, and their families. The club maintains a traditional military golf atmosphere where the game serves both recreational and professional networking functions within the Army community. Access requires military affiliation or sponsorship by an authorized member.
