Old Capital Golf Club

Old Capital Golf Club sits in Corydon, Indiana's first state capital, in the rolling terrain of the state's southern region near the Ohio River valley. Paul Primavera designed the course, which opened in the early 2000s and takes advantage of the natural topography characteristic of this part of Indiana, where elevation changes and wooded corridors are more pronounced than in the flatter central portions of the state. The routing moves through a mix of open and tree-lined holes, with several playing along ridges and others descending into lower-lying areas. The layout incorporates the natural contours of the land, creating variety in stance and approach angles. Water features come into play on a handful of holes, and the bunkering follows a traditional style that frames greens and defines landing areas without excessive visual clutter. Corydon itself carries historical significance as Indiana's capital from 1816 to 1825, and the town retains much of its early nineteenth-century character. The course serves both members and daily-fee play, functioning as a community golf facility in a region where public access courses are an important part of the local golf landscape. The setting provides a quiet, wooded atmosphere typical of southern Indiana golf, where the terrain offers more natural movement than courses built farther north in the state.
