Maridoe Golf Club Course
Carrollton, TX, USA

Maridoe Golf Club exists as an unrelenting test, a proving ground where collegiate champions and aspiring professionals confront their games under tournament-like pressure on a daily basis. Nestled amongst the gently rolling terrain north of Dallas, Maridoe presents a thoroughly modern challenge. Its open, exposed landscape features undulating bentgrass greens and strategic bunkering, rewarding thoughtful course management over brute force. Designed by Steve Smyers and opened in 2002, Maridoe doesn’t shy away from demanding carries and closely mown collection areas that punish errant shots. Fairways are generous in spots, but tighten considerably as one nears the green complexes. This encourages aggressive drives while making approach shots feel like the critical moment. Maridoe is a constant presence in amateur circles and known for its high-level competitions.

Golfers say this is Dallas's most challenging course, praising its demanding but fair test of skill that rewards better players seeking improvement. Most note the routing features distinctive holes wrapping around a central lake, though several acknowledge the difficulty may be too much for everyday play, particularly when wind intensifies. Reviewers consistently highlight the exceptional staff, with some describing the hospitality as refreshingly authentic and down-to-earth for a high-end facility. The consensus suggests playing from appropriate tees makes the course manageable, and while it earns respect as a true championship test, it's better suited for occasional rounds than daily golf.

Great conditions, clubhouse and service. Very difficult
Hardest golf course in Dallas but, when played from the right tee boxes, a fair challenge. Wouldn’t want to play it ever day but can respect the course for what it is. It’s a true test of golf where the best players can be challenged and get better every day.
I love this place. I genuinely believe this facility has the potential to be the best club in Dallas. The golf course is challenging but fair. Probably too much course for most as an every day experience, especially when the wind kicks up. Staff is truly exceptional. For a high end club, there is a refreshing level of authenticity and down to earth friendliness.
Definitely a good challenge. Some unique holes that bend around the lake in the middle of the property.
