Prince's Golf Club

The Dunes course at Prince's Golf Club represents a modern reinterpretation of links golf on the historic Sandwich coastline, designed by Martin Ebert and opened in 2017. Ebert's brief was to create a routing that maximizes the natural duneland character of the property while offering a distinct experience from the club's two other courses, the Shore and the Himalayas. The layout occupies ground that includes some of the most dramatic sand hills on the estate, with several holes playing through corridors of tall dunes and others opening to wider, more exposed terrain typical of the Kent coast. Prince's Golf Club itself dates to 1906 and sits adjacent to Royal St George's, sharing the same stretch of linksland that has hosted numerous Open Championships next door. The club's three nine-hole loops allow for flexible combinations, and the Dunes nine has quickly established itself as a favorite among members and visitors for its natural movement and strategic variety. The holes feature generous fairways that reward thoughtful positioning, with greenside bunkering and undulating putting surfaces that demand precision on approach shots. The course benefits from excellent drainage and firm turf conditions characteristic of true links golf, playing fast and bouncy during dry periods. Views extend across the dunes toward Sandwich Bay and the English Channel, and the layout integrates seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, feeling both contemporary in its design clarity and timeless in its links character.
