Lake Carlsbad Golf Club

Players encounter the contrast between irrigated playing corridors and the surrounding high desert environment. The Pecos River valley location means elevation shifts that affect club selection and create varied hole presentations. Wind is a regular factor in this part of New Mexico, adding challenge to what the yardage and layout suggest on paper. Carlsbad serves as a regional hub in an area better known for Carlsbad Caverns National Park than for golf, and the course functions as the primary full-length facility for the local community and visitors to the region. The club provides a conventional golf experience in a part of the state where courses are relatively sparse.
