Winding Ridge Golf Club

Winding Ridge, nestled in the northeast quadrant of Indianapolis, is a club quietly content in its understated elegance, a haven for those who prioritize camaraderie over clamor. The course, laid out in the early 1990s, presents a contemporary parkland experience characterized by mature trees, strategic bunkering, and subtly undulating greens. It's a course that favors a thoughtful approach, rewarding strategic play more than raw power; long hitters may be tempted to overpower it, but accuracy and course management are the keys to a rewarding round. Designed by Tim Liddy, Winding Ridge does not claim the pedigree of a championship venue, nor does it strive to. Its strength lies in its design which is very walkable (a rarity in the area) and its commitment to providing a meticulously maintained, enjoyable golf experience for its members. The layout, though challenging, lacks overt difficulty which allows for quick, fun play amongst its membership. Beyond the golf, Winding Ridge fosters a relaxed atmosphere. Weekday games are frequent, and it's not uncommon to see members enjoying a post-round drink and exchanging stories on the patio overlooking the 18th green. The club boasts a loyal membership - many of whom have been there since its inception. A notable feature of Winding Ridge is the large practice area with multiple teeing areas for both members and the thriving junior golf program it houses which is a cornerstone of the club's identity.
