Sycamore Course
Indianapolis, IN, USA

Sycamore at Eagle Creek Golf Club reflects the optimistic ambition of Indianapolis' northwest side. Built in the late 1980s, the course eschews the rolling Indiana farmland for a flatter, more generous layout. The terrain plays as a Midwestern take on parkland golf, with mature trees framing wide fairways. It provides a strategic test more than a visually intimidating one. Errant shots are rarely punished severely, but thoughtful placement is rewarded. Architect Tim Liddy, a Pete Dye disciple, shaped the course, lending it subtle undulations and subtly treacherous greens. Sycamore has quietly hosted several Indiana State Golf Association events, solidifying its place as a respected venue for competitive amateur golf within the region. While not nationally renowned, Sycamore offers a solid and accessible golf experience. The club is known for its unpretentious atmosphere, drawing a diverse membership from across Indianapolis. Sycamore is more than just a round of golf; it's a community hub. Many members gather after their rounds for conversation, and camaraderie over the club's famous BBQ ribs and bourbon selection. A local favorite for relaxed golf and unpretentious company.

Sycamore definitely more interesting than Pines. Still just okay. We play a work league here and they’ve been very accommodating. It’s been great for that.
Gorgeous course. No break between 9/10
Hole #5 was most memorable hole. Right side of fairway lines up a great 3 wood over a large ravine.
