Shadow Glen Course
Manor, TX, USA

Shadow Glen Golf Club, carved into the Blackland Prairie of Manor, Texas, is a testament to Texas golf history. This 18 hole design by renowned architect Algie Pulley, Jr. has been host to some of Central Texas' finest. Opened in 1999, the course has been host to US Open Qualifiers, Austin Amateur Championships and more. The Texas style course presents generous fairways. The layout is forgiving to those that can't hit it straight but it's the subtle approach shots that will challenge a skilled player to manage their ball to find the correct tier of the green. It's Texas golf at its finest where the wind is a constant variable and the golfer has to adapt to conditions. While not nationally recognized, Shadow Glen is a staple in the Austin golf community. A large and active membership is drawn from all over the state and beyond and is known for its camaraderie and passion for the game. Shadow Glen might be the best value golf in the Austin area. Shadow Glen's charm also extends beyond the course. The friendly staff and membership makes it a great environment for golfers of all levels. After the round, golfers can enjoy a meal on the patio overlooking the course and make new friends.

ShadowGlen GC is a quirktastic 2003 Roy Bechtel/Randy Russell design that is regarded as one of the better public options in the Austin area. Very unique topography and lots of risk/reward holes to keep you interested. Fairway conditions were to be desired, but greens were solid!
Pretty course, every hole felt different and kept it interesting. May have been the time of day I was playing but back 9 felt like a different course compared to the front. Decent value.
