Saltburn serves a membership drawn largely from the surrounding towns and villages of North Yorkshire and Teesside. The club maintains traditional values common to many British seaside courses established in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, with a clubhouse that reflects its heritage. The course remains relatively unknown outside the region but represents a characteristic example of Braid's work on coastal terrain and offers straightforward golf in a dramatic natural setting.
