Riverside Course
Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire, England

Trent Lock Golf and Country Club's Riverside course sits in Long Eaton, a town in Nottinghamshire's southeastern corner where the River Trent and the Erewash Canal converge. The area's flat, low-lying terrain and network of waterways define the character of the golf here. The course occupies former meadowland typical of the Trent Valley, where the river's historical flood plain has created level ground with drainage considerations that influence both routing and maintenance. The layout reflects the constraints and opportunities of its riverside setting. Water features prominently, both as natural hazards and as landscape elements that frame holes and define strategy. The relatively open terrain offers few dramatic elevation changes, placing emphasis instead on accurate shot-making and course management around the water corridors. Mature trees planted since the course's establishment provide definition between holes and shelter from the winds that can sweep across the valley. Trent Lock serves primarily as a members' club with country club amenities beyond golf, including dining and social facilities that cater to the local community in the Nottingham-Derby corridor. The club's location near the junction of the Trent and Erewash has historical significance in Britain's canal network, and the surrounding area retains some of that industrial heritage character. The course offers accessible golf in a region where the landscape is shaped more by rivers and human activity than by natural topographical drama.
Played this course plenty of times, while the condition has got better this sumner, still needs improvement. Would be nice if they raked the bunkers at the statt of the day and all bunkers had rakes. I always have the feeling of being looked down on in the shop too. Only play this course when all other options are gone
