Old Course
Bedminster, NJ, USA

Trump National Golf Club Bedminster stands as a testament to opulent golf, carved from the rolling hunt country of northern New Jersey. Its Old Course offers a stern, if not especially subtle, test, rewarding power and demanding stout ball-striking. Architect Tom Fazio sculpted the original layout, a modern parkland design characterized by generous fairways framed by thick rough and strategically placed bunkers. Its length favors long hitters, while undulating greens place a premium on precise approach shots and deft putting. Water hazards come into play on several holes, adding to the challenge, while the course rewards a fade. The club secured its place on the global stage hosting the 2017 U.S. Women's Open, an event remembered as much for the political climate surrounding its namesake owner as for the golf. Beyond the course, the club is known for its exclusivity and the membership is rumored to include titans of finance, industry, and entertainment, all drawn to the combination of challenging golf and luxurious amenities.

Golfers say this is a challenging, well-maintained course that demands precision and rewards solid play. Most praise the first-class amenities—including the restaurant, locker room, and caddie service—and note the layout's open, semi-hilly terrain creates few easy scoring opportunities, with uneven lies and punishing rough keeping players honest throughout the round. Reviewers find the greens relatively flat and readable, though some mention they can run slower than expected. The course earns high marks for playability and overall quality, with golfers describing it as a top-tier experience that will test your game while providing excellent hospitality.

Great course. Open layout and semi-hilly makes it challenging. Not too many flat lies and no holes that are given birdies, so you have to fight for your score. The greens aren’t fast sometimes, but easy to read and flat-ish. Also had a career back nine here so maybe I’m biased
Played in July 2025. Extremely playable course, but can be difficult if playing from the rough. Everything is 1st class….restaurant, men’s bar, locker room, caddies and definitely both courses. 1 negative is the lack of XL sizes in the gift shop.
A wonderful summer retreat for Mr. President, but prepare to get your teeth kicked in.
