Montgomerie Links occupies coastal terrain in Quang Nam Province, roughly midway between Da Nang and the historic town of Hoi An in central Vietnam. Colin Montgomerie, the eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner, designed the course as his first signature project in Southeast Asia, bringing links-style golf to a region more commonly associated with tropical resort layouts. The property sits near the Thu Bon River estuary where it meets the East Sea, and the routing takes advantage of natural dunes, native grasses, and prevailing winds that create playing conditions reminiscent of traditional seaside courses. The design emphasizes strategic bunkering, firm turf conditions, and ground-game options that reward creativity and course management over pure aerial assault. Wide fairways offer multiple angles of approach, but the wind and firm surfaces demand thoughtful club selection and shot shaping. Several holes play directly along the coastline, while others move through the duneland interior where elevation changes provide views across the property and out to sea. The course serves as the centerpiece of a residential and resort development, though it maintains a relatively open feel given the scale of the dune landscape. Montgomerie Links has hosted professional events on the Asian Development Tour and regional amateur competitions, helping establish central Vietnam as a golf destination.
