Hoiana Shores

Hoiana Shores occupies a coastal site in central Vietnam, approximately 30 kilometers south of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province. The course forms part of the Hoiana integrated resort development along the South China Sea. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the layout, which opened in 2019 as Vietnam's first true links-style course. The routing takes advantage of the property's natural dunescape and direct ocean frontage, with several holes playing along or toward the water. The design incorporates wide fairways and large, undulating greens characteristic of Jones's later work, with strategic bunkering that rewards thoughtful course management over pure distance. The front nine moves through the dunes with ocean views becoming more prominent, while the back nine features multiple holes directly on the coastline. Wind from the sea is a consistent factor in club selection and shot shaping. The property's sandy soil provides firm playing conditions and good drainage year-round. The course has hosted professional events on the Asian Tour, including the Hoiana Vietnam Masters, bringing international tournament golf to the region. The layout measures over 7,100 yards from the championship tees, though multiple tee options accommodate different skill levels. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse with views across the course toward the ocean. Hoiana Shores represents a significant addition to golf in Southeast Asia, offering a links experience uncommon in the region's predominantly parkland and resort course landscape.
