Mines Golf Club

Mines Golf Club, a Grand Rapids institution, is built upon the legacy of a former gypsum mine, its rolling terrain a constant reminder of the industry that once shaped this corner of the city. The course unfolds in a classic parkland style, rewarding strategic play and a deft touch around the greens, rather than brute force off the tee. While not overly long, the generous fairways are subtly contoured, often favoring a controlled fade into position for an approach to the challenging and undulating greens. Originally designed in the mid-20th century, its layout blends gentle elevation changes with mature trees, creating a tranquil playing environment despite its proximity to the city. Although it has not hosted any national championships, Mines Golf Club has long been a proving ground for local and regional talent, and is a regular host of Golf Association of Michigan events.
