Golf de la Porcelaine

Golf de la Porcelaine occupies rolling terrain in Panazol, a commune just outside Limoges in the Limousin region of central France. Designed by Jean Garaialde and opened in the early 1990s, the course takes its name from the area's historic association with porcelain manufacturing, an industry that made Limoges internationally renowned. The layout reflects Garaialde's approach to working with natural landforms, routing holes through a mix of wooded sections and more open ground typical of the Limousin countryside. The course measures around 6,000 meters from the back tees and plays as an 18-hole par 72. Garaialde incorporated mature trees and natural water features into the design, creating variety in hole character and shot requirements. The terrain provides moderate elevation changes that add strategic interest without imposing severe walking demands. Several holes move through corridors of oak and chestnut, while others open to views across the surrounding landscape. Golf de la Porcelaine serves both local members and visiting golfers exploring the region. The club maintains a relatively informal atmosphere consistent with many French provincial courses, where golf integrates with regional dining traditions. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse that reflects the area's architectural character. While not a tournament venue of national prominence, the course provides a representative example of French regional golf design from the period when the sport expanded beyond major urban centers.
