Heritage Hills Course
Claremore, OK, USA

Heritage Hills Golf Course opened in Claremore, Oklahoma, designed by Donald Sechrest, a regional architect known for his work across the southern plains states during the latter decades of the twentieth century. The course serves as a public facility in this northeastern Oklahoma community, located roughly thirty miles northeast of Tulsa in the rolling terrain characteristic of the Ozark foothills region. The layout takes advantage of the area's natural topography, with elevation changes and wooded corridors that distinguish it from flatter prairie courses found elsewhere in the state. Mature trees frame many holes, and water features come into play on several occasions throughout the round. The design reflects Sechrest's approach of working within existing landforms rather than imposing dramatic earthmoving, resulting in a routing that follows the contours of the property. Heritage Hills functions as a community course for Claremore and the surrounding area, offering accessible golf in a region where public facilities serve a broad range of players. The course provides a straightforward test that rewards accuracy and course management, typical of municipal and daily-fee designs from this era. The setting offers views of the surrounding Oklahoma landscape, with the course integrated into the residential and recreational fabric of this mid-sized town that sits between Tulsa's metropolitan area and the lakes and natural areas of the Ozark periphery.
Great layout gets marked down due to conditioning. Fun course that’s the center of the community but they have really struggled with conditioning. Could easily jump a point in ranking if they figure that out because it is a very good layout
