Goose Creek Course
Mira Loma, CA, USA

Goose Creek Golf Club, a fixture of Mira Loma golf since its inception, offers a classic, no-frills golfing experience with a uniquely Californian twist. The course, laid out across relatively flat terrain, presents an approachable yet engaging challenge for players of all skill levels. Generous fairways invite aggressive tee shots, but well-placed bunkers and subtle undulations around the greens demand strategic approaches and a deft touch on the putting surfaces. Long hitters might find an advantage here, provided they can navigate the course's handful of strategically positioned water hazards. While the original design lineage of Goose Creek isn't steeped in architectural notoriety, its commitment to accessible and enjoyable golf is evident. The course isn't known for hosting major championships or vying for national accolades, but it has carved out a niche as a beloved local course, a community hub for weekend rounds and casual competition. The spirit of Goose Creek lies not in its architectural pedigree, but in its dedication to providing affordable golf in a relaxed atmosphere. Goose Creek's charm extends beyond the course itself. Known locally as a friendly and welcoming environment, the club fosters a strong sense of camaraderie among its regulars. While no singular culinary delight has defined the Goose Creek experience, it's the post-round conversations, the shared laughter over a cold drink on the patio, and the genuine sense of community that truly resonate. Goose Creek offers a slice of authentic Southern California golf—unpretentious, approachable, and genuinely enjoyable.

A really good public course in SoCal about an hour and fifteen from LA. The conditions were really really good and the pace was terrific, finishing an 18 in under 4 hours (unheard of for public golf in SoCal). While the front 9 is good, only a couple holes stand out. The back 9 is the better of the two sides with a very good variety of holes. It’s a strategic golf course through and through with several ways of playing each hole with some very well placed hazards and traps. For sure a thinking man’s course and a welcome departure from the basic straight shot munis of the greater LA area. Very walkable and an enjoyable walk at that. Definitely worth playing and coming back to. I’d still rather play rustic canyon or soule park but goose creek is a welcome addition to the rotation of non muni public courses within 1.5 hours of LA.
