Fairview Course
Greenwich, CT, USA

Fairview Country Club occupies a wooded property in Greenwich, Connecticut, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1962. The course represents Jones's mature design philosophy from this period, featuring the strategic bunkering, elevated greens, and water hazards that became hallmarks of his work. The layout takes advantage of the natural rolling terrain characteristic of Fairfield County, with elevation changes that add dimension to the playing corridors. The routing moves through a mix of hardwood forest and open fairways, with several holes playing along or across water features that Jones incorporated into the design. The greens are typically large and contoured, demanding precise approach play and careful attention to pin positions. Jones's trademark deep bunkers guard many putting surfaces, creating visual intimidation and requiring sound course management decisions from the tee. Fairview serves as a private family club in one of Connecticut's most established communities. The membership has maintained the course through various updates over the decades while preserving the essential character of Jones's design. The club sits within a residential area of Greenwich, providing a parkland setting that contrasts with some of the more links-influenced courses found along the nearby Long Island Sound coastline. The layout offers a straightforward test of golf without excessive length, relying instead on strategic positioning and accurate iron play.

Really liked this place more than I expected, beautiful grounds and has everything you’d ever want in a club. Was in great condition and the caddie was awesome. I just had a case of the hooks which I struggled with
