Maybe a little bias as I have a hole in one on 6, it’s my dad’s home course from childhood and it’s 10 min away from my cabin. I’ve spent so many nights playing 18 in 3 or less hours then going out for more golf at this place. Condition is always solid. Greens are usually really good. Fairways usually solid. Rough has some clover and patchy spots but it’s an awesome value track. Back nine during golden hour is what summer feels like to me if that makes any sense.
They have said that Alister Mackenzie came in by train and drew a sketch/designed the back nine here. While that feels a little far fetched for Willmar, Minnesota, the back nine is extremely impressive with 7 par 4s that all stick out and display some variety (one 5 and one 3). Front nine leaves some to be desired but great greens throughout.
