Clubview at Farmstead Golf & Country Club occupies rolling terrain in the Skylands region of northwestern New Jersey, an area characterized by wooded hillsides and former agricultural land. Byron Phoebus designed the course, which takes its name from views back toward the clubhouse facilities that appear throughout the routing. The layout works across varied elevation changes typical of this part of Sussex County, where the landscape transitions between the New Jersey Highlands and the Great Valley. The course routing incorporates natural contours and wooded corridors, with holes that move through both open and tree-lined sections. Elevation shifts create approach shots to greens set at different levels from the fairways, and several holes play along ridgelines or down into valleys. Water features appear on select holes, though the primary design interest comes from the topography itself and how the routing responds to the land's movement. Farmstead operates as a private country club serving the Lafayette area and surrounding communities in northwestern New Jersey. The facility includes both golf and country club amenities typical of regional clubs in this part of the state. The course provides members with a layout that reflects the natural character of the Sussex County landscape, where golf courses often work with significant terrain variation rather than flatter ground found elsewhere in New Jersey.
