Brook Hollow Course
Dallas, TX, USA

Brook Hollow is where Dallas golf began, its pedigree established long before the city's sprawling reach consumed its once-rural setting near the original Love Field airport. This classic, pre-World War II design unfolds across gently rolling terrain, a parkland course that subtly tests players with strategic bunkering and mature trees. The layout favors those who can shape the ball, rewarding thoughtful approaches over brute power. Subtle doglegs and deceptively contoured greens require precision, not just length. A.W. Tillinghast originally sculpted this course, and it has been lovingly maintained, albeit with occasional enhancements over the years, to preserve its original intent. Brook Hollow has played host to prestigious events, most notably the Dallas Open Invitational, drawing legends of the game to compete on its hallowed grounds. While perhaps not as globally renowned as some of its counterparts, Brook Hollow remains a highly regarded club in the region, a sanctuary for those who appreciate the game's traditions and a tight-knit membership known for its understated elegance. Brook Hollow is known for its invitationals that are highly sought after.

Golfers say this redesigned Tillinghast layout ranks among the Dallas-Fort Worth area's finest, with most praising its impeccable conditioning and fast bent-grass greens that can prove slippery. Reviewers highlight standout holes including the par-3 8th, the stretch at 15 and 16, and especially the 7th, which one calls the best on the course. Most note the interesting green complexes throughout the routing, though some mention that the 18th falls short of the rest of the design. The club earns consistent high marks for its overall quality and classic feel, with one golfer noting they could happily play it every day.

The redesign is pure class. All around impeccable club- at times I forget I’m in Texas. Fast bent greens, square bunkers, great practice facilities, no tee times…. you get the picture. Hole 7 is the best hole out there.
Right up there with Shady for DFW’s best. Tillie layout never gets old. Could play this every day gladly. Never played it pre-redesign but the current iteration is awesome. Worst hole on the course is 18 but rumor has it they have a plan to fix it. 8 is an awesome par 3. 15 and 16 are two other favorites.
One of the best in the DFW area. Some really interesting green complexes.
