Bellewstown Golf Club

Bellewstown Golf Club sits in the rolling countryside of County Meath, approximately five miles northwest of Drogheda in Ireland's Ancient East. The course occupies elevated ground near the historic Bellewstown Racecourse, one of Ireland's oldest racing venues, and the surrounding landscape offers views across the Boyne Valley toward the Irish Sea. The layout was designed by Nicky and Ollie Ennis, who have worked on several Irish courses and are known for creating playable designs that work with natural terrain rather than imposing dramatic earthworks. The course measures around 5,800 meters from the back tees and plays as a parkland layout with mature trees lining many fairways. The routing takes advantage of the site's natural elevation changes, with several holes playing uphill or downhill across gently rolling ground. The terrain provides natural movement in the fairways and creates variety in stance and approach shots. Wind is often a factor given the exposed hilltop position, particularly on the more open holes where the land rises toward the higher points of the property. Bellewstown functions as a members' club serving the local community and visitors to the Boyne Valley region. The club maintains a traditional Irish golf club atmosphere, with the course offering a straightforward test that rewards accurate driving and course management. The setting near historical sites including the Hill of Tara and the Newgrange passage tomb places the course within one of Ireland's most significant archaeological landscapes.
