Jonathan Gaunt

Jonathan Gaunt is a British golf course architect and director of Gaunt Golf Design, with a portfolio spanning over 30 courses since 1987. A member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA), Gaunt has focused primarily on the UK market, though his work extends to Continental Europe.

His portfolio includes both resort and club facilities across England. Notable designs include the Prince Bishops' and Cathedral courses at Ramside Hall Hotel Golf Club in County Durham, and Linden Hall at Macdonald Linden Hall Golf and Country Club in Northumberland. In the Home Counties, he created both the Chesfield Downs and Lannock Links courses at Chesfield Downs Golf Club in Hertfordshire, along with Wokefield Park in Berkshire.

Gaunt has also undertaken renovation work, including the 2013 redesign of Wike Ridge at Leeds Golf Centre. His international projects include Castleknock Golf Club near Dublin, Parque da Floresta in Portugal's Algarve, and Los Barrancos at La Zagaleta in Spain. His work demonstrates range across parkland, links-style, and hotel resort settings throughout Britain and beyond.
