WILDHORSE GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Henderson, NV, USA
Designed by Bob Cupp, Hubert Green

WildHorse Golf Club sits in the desert landscape of Henderson, Nevada, approximately fifteen miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip. The course was designed by Bob Cupp in collaboration with Hubert Green, the two-time major champion who won the 1977 U.S. Open and 1985 PGA Championship. Green's playing experience informed the strategic elements of the design, while Cupp brought his architectural expertise to shaping the desert terrain into a championship-caliber layout. The course opened in the mid-1990s during a period of significant golf development in the Las Vegas valley.
The routing works with the natural desert topography, incorporating elevation changes and native vegetation characteristic of the Mojave Desert environment. The design philosophy emphasizes strategic shot-making over forced carries, with fairways that reward positioning and greens that require thoughtful approach play. Waste areas and desert scrub frame many holes, creating visual definition while maintaining the authentic character of the setting.
WildHorse serves as a daily-fee facility and has been a venue for various regional amateur competitions and qualifying events over the years. The course offers views of the surrounding mountains and the Las Vegas valley, providing a desert golf experience distinct from the more heavily manufactured resort courses closer to the Strip. The layout tests players with a combination of length, strategic bunkering, and green complexes that reflect both Cupp's architectural sensibility and Green's understanding of tournament-level golf.
Reviews
Used to be a fun Bob Cupp course but it’s been redesigned numerous times to make room for houses and changed over to desert landscape. Always a budget option when I lived in Vegas think it still is.
