The course was designed by Arthur Hills with associates Steve Forrest and Chris Wilczynski, part of the Hills design firm's work during the residential golf development boom of the 2000s. The property features the gently undulating topography common to the Nashville Basin region, with fairways routed through native hardwoods and around natural drainage corridors. Hills and his team incorporated elevation changes and strategic bunkering to create variety across the eighteen holes, with several holes playing along ridgelines that offer views of the surrounding countryside. Water features appear on multiple holes, typical of residential course design in this era and region. The course serves primarily as an amenity for the Westhaven community, one of the larger new urbanist developments in the Franklin area.
