Arthur Hills

Arthur Hills was an American golf course architect who designed more than 200 new courses worldwide between 1960 and his retirement. His portfolio spans private clubs, resort destinations, and upscale public facilities across the United States and abroad. The firm he led, Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates, also completed over 120 renovation and modification projects, including work on renowned clubs preparing to host major USGA and PGA championships.

Among his notable designs in Course Vaults are Bay Harbor Golf Club in Michigan, featuring three distinctive nines—The Preserve, The Links, and The Quarry—that can be combined in various 18-hole routings; Oitavos Dunes in Portugal, set along dramatic coastal terrain; and a renovation of Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, a historic championship venue. His work is represented across diverse settings from resort courses such as Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island and Half Moon Bay Golf Links in California to private clubs like Mirasol Country Club (Sunset course) in Florida and Egypt Valley Country Club (Ridge course) in Michigan.
