Fields Ranch

Fields Ranch West in Frisco occupies land in the northern Dallas suburbs, part of the rapid residential and commercial development that has transformed this area over the past two decades. The course was designed by Jeff Brauer, a Texas-based architect known for his work throughout the region, and opened in the early 2000s as part of a master-planned community. The routing works with the gently rolling prairie terrain typical of north Texas, incorporating natural drainage corridors and stands of native grasses where the land allows. The layout features relatively open playing corridors with strategic bunkering and water hazards that come into play on several holes. Bermuda grass fairways and greens suit the climate, and the design emphasizes playability for a range of skill levels while still presenting decision-making opportunities from the tee and on approach shots. Elevation changes are modest but sufficient to create visual interest and affect club selection. Fields Ranch operates as a semi-private facility, serving both members and daily-fee players. The club includes a second eighteen-hole course, Fields Ranch East, also designed by Brauer, giving golfers in the Frisco area access to thirty-six holes on the property. The courses reflect the practical, accessible character common to many Texas daily-fee and semi-private facilities, providing solid conditioning and straightforward golf in a suburban setting.
