Stonebrooke Golf Club

Waters Edge at Stonebrooke Golf Club opened in 2000 as part of a residential community development in Shakopee, a southwestern suburb of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The course was designed by Joel Goldstrand, a Minnesota-based architect who has worked extensively throughout the Upper Midwest. The property sits along the Minnesota River valley, and the routing takes advantage of the natural terrain variations and wetland corridors that characterize this part of the river basin. The layout measures over 6,800 yards from the back tees and plays as a par 72. The front nine occupies higher ground with rolling fairways and views across the valley, while the back nine descends toward lower elevations where water features and native grasses come into play more frequently. Several holes incorporate forced carries over wetlands, and the closing stretch includes risk-reward opportunities around ponds and creeks. The design emphasizes strategic options from the tee, with multiple landing areas and approach angles available to players who position their drives thoughtfully. Stonebrooke operates as a semi-private facility, offering both membership and daily-fee access. The club serves the growing Shakopee area and draws golfers from throughout the southern Twin Cities suburbs. The course hosts local amateur events and league play throughout the Minnesota golf season, which typically runs from late April through October.
