Waterfall Course
Clayton, GA, USA

Waterfall Club sits in the North Georgia mountains near Clayton, a region known for its dramatic elevation changes and forested terrain. Designed by Scott Pool, the course takes advantage of the natural topography characteristic of the southern Appalachian foothills, where routing typically works through hardwood forests and across rolling to steep ground. The area around Clayton has become home to several mountain golf communities, and courses here generally feature significant elevation change from tee to green, with fairways carved through dense tree cover and views that extend across ridges and valleys. The design likely incorporates the natural water features and rock outcroppings common to this part of Georgia, where streams and cascades are frequent elements of the landscape. Mountain courses in this region tend to demand accurate placement over pure distance, as narrow landing areas and elevation shifts complicate club selection and strategy. The cooler climate at elevation supports bent grass greens and allows for a playing season that extends comfortably through spring and fall. Waterfall Club operates as a private facility within a residential community, typical of the mountain golf developments that have grown in the Clayton area over recent decades. The setting offers the seclusion and natural beauty that define North Georgia mountain golf, with the course serving as the centerpiece of a retreat-style club environment removed from the more populated areas of the state.
