The Links Course
La Romana, DO

The Links at Casa de Campo opened in 2003 as the resort's third Pete Dye design, joining the celebrated Teeth of the Dog and the mountainous Dye Fore. Routed across relatively flat terrain inland from the Caribbean coast, the course occupies former sugarcane fields and pastureland that Dye transformed into a links-style layout unusual for the tropics. The design incorporates wide fairways, deep pot bunkers, and expansive waste areas that evoke Scottish seaside golf, though the setting remains distinctly Caribbean with palm trees and tropical vegetation framing the holes. Dye's routing takes advantage of the open landscape to create broad playing corridors with strategic bunkering and multiple approach angles to the greens. The flatter topography allows for ground game options more typical of traditional links golf, while prevailing trade winds add a variable element to club selection and shot shaping. Several holes feature dramatic bunkering complexes and undulating green surfaces that reward precise iron play and careful course management. Casa de Campo has established itself as one of the Caribbean's premier golf destinations, with The Links offering a contrasting experience to the oceanfront drama of Teeth of the Dog. The resort hosts various amateur tournaments and corporate outings, and the course serves members and resort guests year-round. The facility maintains the high conditioning standards expected at a luxury resort while preserving the strategic character of Dye's design, which emphasizes positioning and creativity over pure length.
