Arrow Creek Golf Club

The Legend at Arrow Creek Golf Club opened in the late 1990s as part of a residential golf community in the high desert foothills northeast of Reno. Designed by Palmer Course Design Company during Arnold Palmer's active period of course development, the layout occupies rolling terrain with elevation changes that provide views across the Truckee Meadows toward the Sierra Nevada range to the west. The routing takes advantage of the natural topography, incorporating arroyos and native desert vegetation into the playing corridors. Multiple tee boxes allow the layout to accommodate different skill levels, while bunkering and water features come into play on several holes. The high desert setting means firm, fast conditions during much of the season, with bentgrass greens that contrast with the surrounding sage and native grasses. Arrow Creek Golf Club operates as a private facility serving its residential membership. The Legend shares the property with a second eighteen-hole course, The Challenge, creating a thirty-six-hole complex. The elevation—approximately 5,000 feet above sea level—affects both ball flight and playing conditions, a characteristic common to northern Nevada golf courses. The club provides a mountain-adjacent golf experience distinct from the casino-resort courses closer to downtown Reno and Lake Tahoe.
