Navarino Hills

The International Olympic at Navarino Hills is a José María Olazábal design that opened in 2010 as part of the Costa Navarino resort development in the southwestern Peloponnese. The course occupies rolling terrain with views across the Ionian Sea and the surrounding Messinian landscape, incorporating olive groves and native Mediterranean vegetation into its routing. Olazábal, working with his first solo design in Greece, created a layout that balances strategic shot-making with accommodation for resort play. The routing moves through varied elevation changes, with several holes playing along ridgelines and others descending into natural valleys. The design emphasizes width off the tee while placing a premium on approach play, with greens that feature subtle contours and are often defended by bunkers positioned to challenge specific angles. Water comes into play on a handful of holes, and the native scrub and olive trees frame many fairways. The course takes its name from the ancient site of Olympia, located roughly an hour to the north, connecting the layout to the region's classical heritage. Costa Navarino has developed into one of Greece's primary golf destinations, with The International Olympic serving as the resort's original championship course. The facility has hosted professional events on the European developmental tours and remains a centerpiece of the property's golf offerings, drawing international visitors to a region better known historically for archaeology and coastal tourism than for golf.
