The design emphasizes width off the tee while placing a premium on approach play, with greens that feature subtle contours and are often defended by bunkers positioned to challenge specific angles. Water comes into play on a handful of holes, and the native scrub and olive trees frame many fairways. The course takes its name from the ancient site of Olympia, located roughly an hour to the north, connecting the layout to the region's classical heritage. Costa Navarino has developed into one of Greece's primary golf destinations, with The International Olympic serving as the resort's original championship course.
