London Golf Club

The International at London Golf Club occupies a 700-acre estate in the Kent countryside near Ash, roughly 25 miles southeast of central London. Designed by Ron Kirby and opened in 1994, the course was built on former farmland and woodland, with significant earth-moving employed to create dramatic elevation changes and strategic interest across relatively gentle terrain. Kirby, who worked extensively in Europe and collaborated with Jack Nicklaus on several projects, shaped a layout that emphasizes bold contouring, large-scale bunkering, and water hazards that come into play on multiple holes. The routing moves through mixed woodland and open parkland, with fairways often framed by mature trees and newer plantings. Several holes feature pronounced doglegs and elevated tee shots that reveal strategic options from above. The bunkering style is expansive and sculptural, with deep faces and irregular edges that give the course a modern, muscular appearance. Water appears prominently on the back nine, including a lake that guards the approach to the par-five 18th, creating a risk-reward finish. London Golf Club operates as a private members' club and has hosted professional events, including multiple European Tour tournaments in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The club also features a second 18-hole course, The Heritage, and maintains extensive practice facilities. The clubhouse offers traditional amenities in a contemporary setting, reflecting the club's position as a modern addition to the golf landscape of southeast England.
