The Institute

The Institute sits in the rolling hills of Morgan Hill, a town in the southern reaches of Santa Clara County approximately 15 miles south of San Jose. The area's landscape features oak-studded grasslands and gentle elevation changes typical of the interior valleys between the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west and the Diablo Range to the east. The climate is warm and dry through much of the golf season, with the golden-brown summer hillsides characteristic of California's interior valleys. Damian Pascuzzo designed the course, working with terrain that offers natural movement and views across the surrounding countryside. The routing takes advantage of the property's topography, with holes playing through and around the native oaks that define much of the visual character. The layout presents a mix of elevation changes and strategic options, asking golfers to consider both distance control and positioning on a site where the ground contours influence play. The Institute operates as a private facility serving members from the South Bay region. Morgan Hill's location between Silicon Valley and the agricultural lands of the Salinas Valley places the course within reach of the greater San Jose metropolitan area while maintaining a more rural setting than courses closer to the urban core. The club provides a golf-focused environment with the amenities typical of contemporary private clubs in Northern California.
